Fried Shrimp New Orleans

I didn't get a chance to post last night's meal, but here it is. Fried Shrimps and Fries New Orleans.  I used a regular batter, but added a little beer to the batter of: 1 cup of milk, 1 egg, 1/4 cup beer, cayenne and cracked pepper, salt if desire. Dip shrimp from egg mixture to flour then back again. Drop into hot oil, allow to brown evenly about 2 to 3 minutes.
I prepared the fries, then seasoned with cajun seasoning and cracked black pepper, sprinkle a bit of flour on them to lightly coat and fry until browned.
I almost didn't buy the tomatoes for the salad, the price today was $4.25 a pound! One was slightly over a pound! Oh do we need our garden!

The salad was drizzled ever so slightly with a bit of olive oil, then tossed. If you look closely, you can see the cayenne pepper on the shrimp. I had to purchase smaller ones because of the ridiculous price!
When  I seasoned them, I got a bit heavy-handed! They were hot, hot, and they were good! The fries were done just right. I usually have garlic bread with this meal, but I didn't this time. Too many carb the entire day. Try this meal...it is delicious and simple! Enjoy!

  2. It's a good thing you didn't post it yesterday. I would have been on my way. Looks delectable. I love shrimp. I had some earlier today. Now you have enticed me to go downstairs to make some fries.
