Happy Saturday

Greetings,

A short time ago we had a very nice visit from some cousins who stopped in to visit. It has been a while since they have been to Louisiana. They are my Mom's baby sister's grands...wow, that was a mouth full.
But first, here's a pic of little Braylon with his mom and dad.

Braylon was younger here, but as you can see, he is his dad's son

This is Mom's sister Aunt Josephine and her son Donnie. Donnie is our "special" cousin

This young lady is Lashonda, aunt Joe's grand and my second cousin. When I saw her last, she was six years old. She is now a first grade teacher. Wow, how times flies!

Here are Shon's children...my first time seeing them. They live in west Texas, but Shon's hubby was in the NFL and their travels were centered around his work. He is now retired.

She is my sister, Linda...my second sis! I just got a pic of her, she hates taking them just as much as I. She drove over with Lashonda, because they weren't familiar with where we live.
I made them promise to keep in touch with us...although we are cousins we still want to do so. We had a very nice time and I prepared/baked and served a lite repast. Sorry, I forgot to take pics, maybe next time now that they've met us. I'm sure they will be visiting more.
Isn't it wonderful when you meet family you haven't seen in a while, or, not at all? Do you have family you haven't met or not seen for a long time? Share with us!

With Warm Regards,
Loretta

Fish Fry Disaster

How in the world are you? We sure hope you've had a very relaxing  and happy weekend. I want to share some pictures with you, but first, I want to ask you a question:
Have you ever given a party and wished it would all go away?
I sure haven't...not until the one we had recently. And, I'm telling you, we have never seen the lacks of it and we are still astound...
Our family love having large parties and this year, after missing a couple years, it was a Fish Fry...

We had plenty of food to eat

Including a crayfish boil
Here are the fish fryers

These men are from Valdosta

The fish eaters

And beer drinkers and beer

Importantly, the Zydeco band...this is the fiddler

Players and singers

There is always a rocking Zydeco band at a good Louisiana party/dance

And here are the dancers
Wow, what a good time!

Happy, happy  people

I mean HAPPY folks'!

The New Orleans Hurricane Beer from Abita Beer. Sodas were for the Non's and faint at heart!

Yeah, it was a really good Rocking Zydeco time...until...

Some people came up to us and told us there were guest, a certain family, who were loading their car with plates of food and drinks! Then, they would come back to the tables and fix more plates to eat. Not only were they, just one family mind you...filling their car with our food from the tables, but, they also went around to the cooking tents and stole the raw fish, crayfish, shrimp, corn and potatoes...Yeah!
Cases of beer were gone too! It seems they waited until the music and dancing started, then made away with all our food! They knocked a big whole in it...that's for sure! When they knew they were about to be confronted, they jumped in their car and sped off!
OMG! Have you ever heard the lacks of this? We were all standing there with our mouths open and astound!
I really need to hear what you have to say on this one, and yes, it is true...all true! No Kidding!
Oh yeah, some of the men folk's went to the grocery stores and bought up all their fish, and I had more fixin's just in case we ran short! We had to go back in the kitchen to cook again, because there were some, like the band, who had not eaten!
Is there anything you can say to help us to understand this madness? We can sure pick them, huh? Never, ever happened before!!!

James and Loretta, along with a huge party of onlookers in Louisiana...

I'm sorry, some of the pic are not ours' however, they depict  our party to a tee.
