My Front Porch

Good Morning Ladies & Gents...the next phase of my gardening, because of necessity will be cleaning and getting the front porch ready for guest.
The front porch here in the South is the backbone of Southern hospitality. Your porch is the open invitation extended to guest to come on in and "sit a spell". This is exactly what my guest do...they love it!
However, it certainly doesn't feel inviting now. Here are some pictures with all the mess...

When the picture has to be re-sized, I lose the right side of the porch

This is the right side. The porch is the width of the house, rather long and wide. I am thinking about a Porch swing on this end. I want it wide so I can relax and read there.

The picture above is the left side and the highest side.

I wanted two more rockers, however if I add the swing it will get a bit crowded. We are staining the rockers again this time white to match the wicker furniture.

This is a shot from the left...the high side. Did you notice all that pollen all over everything?
Wind is so high today I can't get outside because of my allergies. Pollen makes my skin burn too. Until I can get back out there...this is where I am. Tomorrow more Spring storms...they are saying severe!

Hope to see you again soon! Have A Splendid Tuesday!

  1. Dear Loretta, I love a front porch. I don't have one. I have a front stoop. I like to sit there too. It faces the south, therefore it gets lots of sun. Sometimes a take a piece of fruit and my little dog and sit.
I have a porch in the back of the house though and I like that but it doesn't get much sunshine.
I hope that your allergies are feeling better and that James is feeling good too.
I want to thank you for your visits and your kind comments and encouragement. Things get a little better with each day.
    Blessings dear friend, Catherine xoxo

  2. I've been hearing about some possible nasty weather on Thursday. Awful windy and cloudy today. I love your huge porch and yes it does look inviting now. I wish I were sitting on the porch enjoying a cup of coffee with you. Hope those allergies get in check soon so you can enjoy the outdoors.

  3. Love to come and 'sit a spell' on your porch Loretta. I love the rocker. We call them verandahs out here...great to have a coffee or escape the heat. Hope your allergies ease up for you.
    Hugs xx

  4. Ypu have a lovely front porch. Ours is very long and narrow. We have lived here for 26 years and still haven't found a way to decorate it.
Feeling a bit better. Slow but sure.

  5. Such a lovely southern porch. The swing will be just right for the two of you. I can just imagine you sitting there swaying and whispering sweetheart talk to one another.
