My Small Garden's Fruits

Thank you all for your kind words and commenting... your  concern and encouragement means so much and gives me the lift that I need to keep going. What would we do without friends and our blogging-family!

Rose from my new rose bush smells so good!

James is such a good person. He never complains or gives up. Each time Doc sees him, he is always astound and constant tells him he is one Blessed man. He also tells him he has to be a very spiritual person and the Lord is with him.
If he only knew....

I planted a small veggie garden when I started in my yard however, I lost some of the things I planted. We only picked 3 yellow squash from the plants...that's right 3! That was enough for James. The man next door said he saw squirrels eating them...so did I which is a shock...never heard of them eating it!! No, our neighbor didn't take any!
Deer from the back wood of our property came up and started on the tomatoes! I pulled what was left up and replanted in pots...hopefully we will get some from these. The only thing they haven't eaten, but not without a lack of trying, are the hot hot peppers shown here in the garden. The bush is loaded with them and there are 8 of them!

I picked a few to make Louisiana hot pepper sauce... experimenting with different peppers I hope to make the hottest of hot pepper sauce this year.

We have friends who have challenged me saying I can't make it hot enough...we shall see! James sends his regards to you all and both of us thank you for your care and concern! We wish you a very Delightful Weekend!
Lovingly,
Loretta & James

It Has Been Hard

I am not going to bore you with a long drawn out post about why I have not been around...but I do want to tell you, James had another scare while driving his big rig. Thanks to a good Samaritan (another trucker) who stopped to see what was wrong...got him to hospital in time!! After that, he had a very hard fall walking up the hill to our house.

It has been very hard, not to mention an emotional roller coaster with getting him back on his feet. We have been Blessed and Our Lord has been with us. We are Thankful!!

We will try getting back to blogging on this blog as soon as possible. our Pet blog has been easier for me and if you would like to visit it is  HERE. I have written of our troubles there too.
I've been  stopping by to read some of your post from here but not all. Hopefully I will catch up soon.

Wishing you all a Beautiful Wednesday and Good Health!

With Warm Regards,
Loretta

Lovely Flowers and Update

Good Evening, I am so happy you are hear with me today. Welcome welcome to "At Home with Loretta!" I have been dealing with this vertigo since last week. After seeing Doc and taking each day slowly, everything seems to be slowing down now and my feet are sturdy on the floor. It was really bad this  time.
I didn't get to post since last week, so I couldn't share my crafts with you. Of course, you've seen the Treasure Box I re-purposed from a cookie tin:
                                               http://athomewithloretta.blogspot.com/2013/05/treasures.html

However, I needed some flowers for a photo to include in my newspaper article. I remembered having some paper ones I started for a baby shower.

So, I dug out the whites then started making pastel colors. This is tissue paper that I keep a nice supply of for gift wrapping, etc. Using chenille stems, they are easily wrapped around the tissue to secure. You have to adjust the stems...

then pull each layer of tissue apart to separate them.  I forgot to mention, you must fold the tissue in a fan style first, over-and-under then tie. I then hot-glued a small faux-pearl in the center to hide the chenille-stem after all layers were apart. Adjust them the way you want them to look.

This is the way they should look in fan shape...you can make them any size you want the flower to be...these are small ones showing...

Using a glass vase from my stash, I stuffed the inside with batting, then pushed the stems into it. This keeps the stems from moving and upright.

Using floss I knotted it into a large pink button and tied it to the vase so that it hung just-so!

Miss Kitty thought the arrangement needed adjusting so she put her paw-cents in and moved them about! I can never get things done to suit her...
For a quick bouquet, this was a thrifty solution...and in this case, it didn't cost me anything....
Sure hope you enjoyed your visit...come on back again to see what's happening At Our House. Have a Wonderful Evening
Good-Night,
Loretta & Gang

Happy Friday

Hello Friends... far & near, I have missed you much! I know, it is my own fault! Things have gotten so hectic I have to sit and take a breather. Having so much to do, it seems time really gets away from me. I think it has to do with my having to work at a slower pace. 5PM each day comes too quick!

First let me take this opportunity to offer a belated statement to those of you in Oklahoma. This was such a huge storm and from all the reports it was also tragic with loss of life and homes. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers. We certainly hope you recover from your injuries, especially the children. We are deeply sorry for all your loss. May God Bless each and every one of you!

Because I am having difficulty getting here to post, I will limit my times to 3 and if possible more... I feel bad not posting as before. I really would like to thank those of you who stop by to visit and leaving such warm and loving comments. I really appreciate your doing so. Thank you so much!

We had a bad storm to blow through Thursday and... I'm back to square one with my yard! We came through unscathed, but all that mess... large tree limbs and debris all over. Oh well...you take what you get, I certainly couldn't stop that from happening, right?

Wishing you a Happy Friday and a Super Weekend! Take care of yourselves. Have a great evening!

Warmest Regards,
Loretta & James
