My Cravings...Homemade Peach Cobbler

Good Evening Friends,

Okay, I know you are going to get me good about this pie, but first, let me say this...I used my Natra Taste sugar and followed a recipe for the peaches (these are some that I canned during the summer), using nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, or allspice,

Got this shot before removing it from the oven.

No salt, low fat butter, vanilla. Made the dumplings and crust the same with small amounts of salt. I used shortening, but not the full amount. I was afraid the crust and dumplings would be too tough, but they did well considering.

After a green salad with a small pork madallion smothered in onions, no bread... I had to have-at-it! It has been a while...I mean a while, since I had pie! There are just some things you can't completely take away from the diet.

If I can...'doctor-it-up', and it can pass for healthy...it is in my pots or skillet! I think it was such an intense craving, I thought it was Mmmm...good! That's sad, huh? I don't care,
I got my pie...satsified my cravings, and I'm content!

All I need now is a nice hot shower, my reading stuff and, I'm ready to hit the sack. Oh, did I hear someone say something about dishes...you don't hear James in the background fussing...guess who's night it is to clean the kitchen...Teeheee...yep, you guessed it!

Nighty-nighty,
Loretta

My Dinning Room

Hello, how are you today?

This week is going by so fast it is hard to keep up. I wanted to share pictures of my dining room with you, and tell you a little about it.

Because of resizing now, I wasn't able to get a full shot however, the display cases in each back corner...I use to place decorative plates, and other treasures I've collected over the years.

It gives me a chance to change them often. As you can see, the dining table is a drop leaf that can be pulled up when more room is needed, and there are two extra leafs to be added for even more room...it sits twelve.
Oh, did I tell you the table and chairs belonged to my Mom? They sat in her old house after she'd moved out over five years...they were in a mess when I moved back!

She was about to throw them in the dump when we were clearing out the house to move in... and I grabbed them up!
I couldn't believe she chose to leave the set, especially in the harsh weather here in the south. Thank goodness, the wood held up!
With a bit of TLC, I brought them back to where they are now, and I recovered the chair cushions. (I'll show them to you next time.)  I love the claw feet on the table, and the harp motif in the chair backs.

Although, the pieces have the same dark color, they are not a match. Lite colored walls, trim and accessories in the room, softens the darker color of the wood.
Just with a bit of work, accessories, and decor' ideas, you can take old...mix it with a few thrift-shop things, and create a beautiful room!

Thanks for visiting, and I invite you to come again, sit a spell...At Home with Loretta...

A Craft Closet

I am constantly looking for storage in my home. After moving into this house, I thought,  finally... I have as many closet as I'd need. Boy was I wrong.
I got busy one day clearing out one of my closets in a guest room, deciding I needed my craft "stuff" organized first. I spotted this idea on the Better Homes & Garden site, and thought it would be a good one for me.

A  Craft Closet Storage System...

Check out all of these neat storage ideas with pegboard, etc.,  for those small items that can make things look cluttered. I like this pegboard idea...it is hung right on the door, and your supplies are easy to reach.

This dead space to one side of the closet is fitted with adjstable shelves that can be moved with changing storage needs.

Isn't this a neat idea for your thread, ribbons, rulers, etc. fitted in the other side of your closet.

Be Inspired...because of the limited area, every inch of the closet is put to work. I love these cork trivets from a kitchen and-bath store that creates a mini-bulletin board. The trivets are thicker than standard wall cork and are easily mounted with foam tape.

Hang it up... paper hanging from clothes hangers look pretty and accessible, and the system seperates pattern types and colors. Great idea, right?

What was once an unused closet is now transformed into an inspirational storage space. Simple, straightforward storage solutions with a few snaps of bright color, invigorate this little hideout for your craft supplies.
Look for more storage ideas here as we organize, repurpose and create...At Our House!

Thanks for stopping by to visit,
Loretta

Just A Thought To Remember

Dwelling on people and things that have hurt you in the past will only fester into hate and harm....most of all, it robs one of their Joy! Forget... but...Forgive... for, Forgiveness goes a mighty long way...and is pleasing to our God!

Have a Lovely Evening...
