It has been a number of years since we've experienced an Arctic Front dipping down on us!
When I checked the weather channel their map showed a numbed of Southern states that will be affected.
Blustery wind blows so hard there are limbs falling on the back part of the property. It is howling around the house and scratching at the windows trying to get through! Rain has started to blow with it. Leaves are like snow falling and have blanketed the ground.
James called a minute ago and said wind is so high he had to pull on the shoulder of the road because it was hard to handle his load. One eighteen-wheeler had blown over and lost its load!
Temps are sturdy falling and they are saying we will be in the lower 20's tonight...other places may see the high teens.
If it continues to rain, ice will complicate roads and traffic.
I have gotten the house warm and toasty and ready for the night. Amanda and Lovey are snug in their crates and will not come out. They must have an idea about the impending weather. Miss Kitty is window watching...watching all the leaves fall. She seems to be in a trance. Oh, what is going through her mind as she watches them?
I think I will go in and start a big pot of stick-to-your-ribs soup! It sure will be great keeping warm inside from this cold weather!
Hope things are going okay for all of you and you are keeping warm!
We appreciate your stopping by to visit and wish you could stay a bit longer. Come on back and spend some more time with us...we'll make a fire in the fireplace for you to sit a spell keep warm and rock with a cup of tea!!
Warmest Regards,
Loretta & Family

Sounds like a Perfect day for soup making.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the snuggle.
Thanks for sharing that with us. It made me check my local weather. We do have an alert about strong winds and low temperatures.
ReplyDeleteWhat would we do without our online family?
Keep warm Loretta! And enjoy your yummy soup...Nancy
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I'm happy you posted again. That means you guys survived the storm. It's been cold here lately. I'm hoping it warms up soon. My basement doesn't have heat, and I haven't been down there to do any stories lately.
ReplyDeleteYes Vanessa we did but it was awfully cold here with heavy frost each morning that looked liked blankets of snow. Hope you can get to your basement soon!
ReplyDeleteHugs to you, Loretta
