Southern Potato Salad Dinner

Welcome to Our House! 

   Come on in and visit for a spell. I sure could use your help in the kitchen today. I'm still having problems with my sight so, I'm moving a bit slow. I just started to make my potato salad, the post will start as a tutorial today. As you can see, I've chopped the pickles, onions, celery...my bell peppers are frozen...those on the bush are too small. I have the eggs and olives ready too.

I'm now adding  the chopped veggies above, see how colorful it is?

Now the mayonnaise and mustard. I wanted mustard today with the meal that I have. Mix is all until it is well blended.

I like to make it look presentable by adding to the top slices eggs, olives and a little paprika for color 

Daun helped me to prepare the meal by making sure I didn't make a mistake, importantly, have an accident!

I wanted veggies so, I settled on having greens and candid sweet potatoes with ham and the potato salad. I don't eat much meat however, this ham has good flavor and is very tender. It is a Smithfield. 

  The apple berry crisp is very good Daun surprised us with!  Now, come on and pull up a chair and have some down-home-southern-cooking...there is iced tea in the refrigerator. Help yourself...there's aplenty!

Meet My Grand's From PA

   They are all my grandchildren who lives in PA...my baby son's children!  Jada, the girl in the far left above is the only one we've seen in person and she was around 2-1/2 then. She's eight now!
  Jacob, the little one in the top pic with Jason Jr loves being with his brother and mimics everything Jason Jr does. See how he's looking up to him. Their mom took this pic so I could see how much they've grown and growing. She purchased these pj's about month ago!
  
  That's Jason Jr in the second pic with braids. He actually fights to keep his hair this length! No hair cuts for this one! Jacob tell him daily he looks like a girl!
  Julle, the hefty young one standing in the last pic talks about his weight, but insist on eating a large bag of chips and drinking a 2 liter soda with them in one sitting! 
  
   They were proud of their little pool because they set it up themselves... They even had a ladder set up in front. I thought it was so cute because of their improvising...the deck behind them is suppose to be the wharf out at the lake where they go fishing with their dad!  
  
  James and I have told our son... his family is large enough now...they will be adults before we meet them! However, if all plans stay together, we have planned a huge family gathering at the end of this year! 

 Christopher, our son in the Navy is on shore now, so he will finally be able to come home. There are two little girls of his we are eagerly awaiting to meet! We will be so happy to see them all!

Meet My Cousin and...

I was so pleased to see my second cousin Rachel for the first time since she was a few months old! She has graduated college and doing quite well. She's such a lovely young lady.

 Below, she cut off the person next to her in this picture because...she was at a dance and the man was  quite inebriated and wanted to dance with her. She said they had to leave shortly afterwards because of him. He continuously called her, "Pretty Hot Babe"...  She said she was totally embarrassed!

Do you recognize this little guy? Yep, its Braylon...shortie as we  call him now 2+ yrs old as he will tell you and (My baby sister's only grand) 
  He doesn't seem to grow or weigh much but this child is so darn smart! He amazes me with the conversation he's able to hold with adults. Unbelievable...
  
  It has been a while since we've seen him...he's forgotten us and hides behind his dad when we try to approach him. I sure hate this because we had nice times together when he was younger.
