Good Morning Lovies, hope you are having a nice morning. The rain has ceased and the sun promises to shine today. I know this may sound a bit nuts but, I like this time of the year because of the dark, overcast days. I told you...maybe I should move to Alaska where days are nights, right? lol!
My outing yesterday didn't go as well as I hoped. Having to walk was the worst...I was in so much pain, I enlisted the help of one of the employees in the market to help me back to the car. Believe me, I was happy to get back to the safety of home! Remember that saying, 'heart willin' but, body killin'... yeah, its an ole' saying!
Before I start with the food portion of this post, I want to show you my new backsplash in the kitchen. Because my appliances are stainless, we decided on this design. More to be done soon.
No words are needed here. Enjoy!
This is my Easy Peach Cobbler. I'd love to claim the recipe however, I copied from my grand, and I have seen it everywhere! So, where did it originate?
This one was a bit dry because I used a different casserole dish. (Stick to the recipe) It boiled over taking away all the tasty juices!
Needless to say, it was good! James had his with a scoop if vanilla ice-cream. He wanted seconds, but I was stern! He has to wateh his sweet intake too!
Easy Peach Cobbler Recipe
1 stick of butter
1 cup plain flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt, (I used 1/8 because of low salt intake)
1 large can peaches (28 ounces)
1 tsp. vanilla (I used rum extract also)
You can also add spices if want, nutmeg, cloves to taste
Melt butter in deep casserole dish. Mix together in bowl flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and spices. Add milk and flavoring. Stir to combine batter. Pour batter over melted butter; then add peaches juice and all. Bake 1 hour in 350 degree oven. Serves 4-6.
This was a nice addition to our meal and easy for me after that ghastly outing. Let me know if you enjoyed it, that is, if you decided to try the recipe. Wishing you all a great hump-day (Wednesday) and keep creating!
Love To You All,
Loretta
I've made that peach cobbler many times, but don't put vanilla in my version - I'll have to try that!
ReplyDeleteI love peach cobbler. Thanks for the recipe, Loretta...Christine
ReplyDeleteI have made this before minus the baking powder vanilla and yes it definately calls for some vanilla ice cream. I'm gonna add the vanilla and baking powder next time. Sorry you had a bad outing. I sure hope you feel better soon. Take care and I'll keep you in prayer.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh your backsplash is just beautiful! Kind of like an antique tin ceiling. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteSorry your outing wasn't so good. I do so hope it will get better and less painful, to walk around.
Gentle hugs...
I too have made this basic cobbler minus the vanilla, But I will def. use it next time. Seems to be a trend :) Hope you next outing goes a bit better. Take it slow!
ReplyDeleteHello Loretta. Thank you so much for visiting and leaving me your kind comment. I love your backsplash. It's. Lovely design. Your mouth-watering peach cobbler has me wanting to bake one. Thanks for sharing...Linda
ReplyDeleteHi Loretta. I love the backsplash. Fits perfect in your kitchen. Sorry you had such a terrible outing, but I'm glad the heart is willing. The body will follow suit soon enough. I am going to try to make this peach cobbler. I'm going to try it without the butter, with soymilk, and possibly with part whole wheat flour. I love experimenting with recipes to see what happens. I love that more than eating the food. I'll let you know what happens.
ReplyDeleteLooks great, thanks for the recipe :)
ReplyDeleteHi, the backsplash is nice. I like that ole' saying and glad you made it back to your car. Yummy peach cobbler recipe, sure many will try it. Dollop of ice cream please :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat back splash and I could use a peach cobbler recipe...I love it.
ReplyDeleteYum!! I might just have to try and make a gluten free version of this treat. I love peaches :)
